DescriptionThe management team behind beCogent, who own the majority of the equity of the company, have vast experience in the call centre industry. Collectively, they started and developed one of the earliest and most successful operations in the call centre industry.
In the early 90's, the nucleus of the beCogent team developed and managed McQueen Direct, a global provider of integrated call centre and fulfilment services, serving clients like Microsoft, Motorola and Kodak on an International base. In order to realise shareholder value and to fund further growth, McQueen's management sold the company to its largest competitor, Sykes Enterprises, at the end of 1998. As a result of this in January 1998, Ron Peerenboom, General Manager of McQueen Direct, left and joined APAC TeleServices as Senior Vice President International. He was responsible for the development of APAC's International business and developed a detailed plan for the launch of APAC's first call centre operation in the UK. However, APAC decided to delay the launch and he agreed with APAC to spin-off to found beCogent. |
